The 2020 Tokyo Olympics gets underway from Friday. The opening ceremony would be held on the same day, with a limited number of Indian athletes scheduled to participate. As of now, 28 Indians are expected to be a part of the event.

The world's most incredible sporting event, the Tokyo Olympics 2020, gets underway from Friday. As usual, the customary opening ceremony would be held wonderfully. While it would all be held behind closed doors, it would be done grandly to make it even more spectacular for viewers worldwide.

The opening ceremony would see athletes from various nations taking part, marching down the track wearing their national colours, and the same would be the case for the Indian athletes. While 126 Indian athletes are scheduled to compete, not everyone is expected to be a part of the ceremony, owing to tiredness, keeping in mind their competitions the following day.

Only 28 Indians have so far been confirmed for the same, while flag bearers MC Mary Kom and Manpreet Singh are expected to be a part of it. Here are the confirmed participants from the verticles: Hockey - 1, Boxing - 8, Table Tennis - 4, Rowing - 2, Gymnastics - 1, Swimming - 1, Sailing - 4, Fencing - 1 and Officials - 6.

Although the number of athletes representing during the ceremony could change until the last moment, seven verticles are expected to miss out: Archery, Judo, Badminton, Weightlifting, Tennis, Hockey and Shooting.
