Neymar continues to remain the most expensive transfer in club football history. It was in 2017 when he made a move to the French capital for a whopping price of €222 million from Barcelona.

Although he has been successful at the club, he has found it challenging to play, especially without his Barca partner Lionel Messi. Neymar had a great stint at the Catalonian club, having won eight titles in four seasons, including the UEFA Champions League (UCL) in 2014-15.

Over the years, it has been reported that Neymar wants a way out of PSG and aims to return to Camp Nou, to reunite with Messi, as it is where his heart lies. Recently, on being asked about a possible reunion with Messi, he sounded optimistic.

“What I want most of all is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy him once again on the pitch. He can play in my place, I have no problem with that! But, I want to play with him next year, for sure. We have to do it next season,” he said during the post-match press conference, following PSG win over Manchester United in the UCL on Wednesday.

Needless to say, this would increase the speculations and chances of Barca going for Neymar in the coming months and try to land him at Camp Nou next season. As of now, his contract is set to run out in 2022.

However, what would be interesting to see if Messi stays at Barca. He is going through a rough patch with the club management.
undefined
Messi had decided to walk away from Barca prior to the start of the season, citing his frustrations at former club president, Josep Maria Bartomeu. Nonetheless, Messi’s contract is set to run out at the end of the season.
undefined
It would be interesting to see if he renews the deal and how Barca approach him about it. Meanwhile, English giants Manchester City are the favourites to sign him, since the club is managed by former Barca manager, Pep Guardiola, under whom Messi won two UCLtitles.
