Japanese tennis superstar Naomi Osaka had withdrawn from the ongoing French Open last week, citing mental health. She has also withdrawn from the upcoming Berlin Open, while her participation in the Wimbledon Grand Slam also looks doubtful.

Naomi Osaka of Japan came up with another bad news for her fans as he has decided to pull out of the upcoming Berlin Open ahead of the grass season. The information comes a week after she had pulled out of the ongoing French Open.

Osaka had pulled out of Roland Garros owing to mental health issues. While she had decided to continue playing by boycotting her media obligations, she was fined $15,000 by the organisers after her opening game, besides being warned of further sanctions on the repeat of the offence.

As of now, it is unclear as to when would Osaka be back on the court. However, with the grass season beginning soon and the Berlin Open being an ideal preparation platform ahead of the Wimbledon Grand Slam, her participation in the latter, too, looks dicey now.

Meanwhile, a week after her withdrawal, Osaka thanked her fans for the support she gained, as she is currently at her residence in Los Angeles. "Just want to say thank you for all the love. Haven't been on my phone much, but I wanted to hop on here and tell you all that I really appreciate it," she wrote in her Instagram story.NOTE: Asianet News humbly requests everyone to wear masks, sanitise, maintain social distancing and get vaccinated as soon as eligible.
