Milkha Singh out of ICU after COVID hospital admission, wife admitted as well

Milkha Singh tested positive for COVID last week and was in home isolation before being hospitalised on Monday as a precautionary measure. While he is out of the ICU now, his wife has also been admitted, having tested positive on Wednesday.

“Milkha Singh continues to be stable on oxygen support. He is weak, and we are trying to encourage him to increase his diet. He and his wife both are under observation,” said Fortis Hospital in Mohali in a statement, reports IANS.As the statement confirms, Milkha’s wife, Nirmal Saini, has also been admitted to the same hospital and is being kept under observation. Although she had tested negative for the coronavirus earlier along with other members, she tested positive upon a re-test on Wednesday and had to be hospitalised.

It all began when Milkha’s cook in the house tested positive. However, the cook worked for them for the past 50 years.
