India attained success in boxing at the Tokyo Olympics, with Lovlina Borgohain winning the bronze medal. Meanwhile, here's how she is planning on celebrating it.

It was another success for India at the Tokyo Olympics, with welterweight female boxer Lovlina Borgohain winning the bronze medal. While her bronze was confirmed following her quarterfinal win, she failed to convert it into silver/gold, losing her semi-final bout to Busenaz Sürmeneli of Turkey on Wednesday.

Lovlina is not really pleased for having finished with the bronze, reports PTI. However, she is happy that her sacrifices in the last eight years have borne fruits. Following her semis loss, she said that finishing with a bronze hurts as she was preparing for her gold medal match.

Speaking about her match strategy against Busenaz, she revealed that she could not execute it properly as her Turkish opponent was strong. She went offensive, as she feared getting hit while being on the backfoot. However, things didn't work out as Busenaz was implacable.

She further stated that she had taken harsh decisions in the past eight years, like staying away from home and family and not eating food. She also had this playing at the back of her mind that any wrong decision could take a toll on her performance.

Meanwhile, she had a unique answer upon being asked how she would celebrate her bronze success. She says that she would be on a break for a month or two and would probably go on a holiday, as she hasn't been on one ever since she started practising boxing. While her destination remains unknown, she is particular about the vacation.
