Sadio Mane made headlines last summer after expressing his desire to leave Liverpool despite a successful stint. He joined Bayern Munich. However, his time at Allianz Arena has been turbulent and controversial, as he is itching for an Anfield return.
Senegalese striker Sadio Mane is best known for his time with English giants Liverpool, where he has had a successful stint. Scoring 120 goals in 269 contests across competitions in six seasons and winning six titles, including an English Premier League (EPL) and a UEFA Champions League (UCL), he shockingly expressed his desire to leave Anfield.
Last summer, he was sold to German champion Bayern Munich for £35 million. However, since joining the Bavarian, his stint hasn't been impressive, starting in only 15 fixtures in the Bundesliga, besides netting just 11 in 32 across competitions. Interestingly, he has started just once under new head coach Thomas Tuchel.
Meanwhile, things took a wrong turn for him at Bayern after he punched Leroy Sane in the dressing room following the side's 0-3 rout to English champion Manchester City in the away leg of the UCL quarterfinal. Consequently, he was fined £260,000, while Tuchel dropped him for the side's trip to Hoffenheim this weekend in the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, reports have suggested that the Bavarians have grown impatient with him and will be offloading him just after a season this summer. In contrast, he also needs to fit into the current system of Tuchel. While Football Insider reports that the Senegalese is willing to return to Liverpool, it adds that The Reds are not keen on having him back, given he has turned 31.
