An old interview of south Indian actress Rekha surfaced online in which, she is speaking about a kiss shared with actor Kamal Haasan in the movie Punnagai Mannan. She In that interview, she also said that the famous kiss between her and Kamal Haasan occurred without her consent. In the film Punnagai Mannan, directed by K Balachander, Kamal Haasan and Rekha were playing the role of lovers. And both of them had a kissing scene before they commit suicide as they are not allowed to live together.

In the interview, Rekha said that the director thought about the kiss sequence without seeking her consent. She also said that she would have never agreed to it if she knew this earlier.
