Saira Banu once said if she and Dilip Kumar had a son, he might resemble Shah Rukh Khan

In an interview, Saira Banu had once spoken about similarities between her husband Dilip Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan.
 

Today, veteran actor Dilip Kumar passed away; he was 98. The legendary cinema icon was hospitalised on June 30 after he complained of breathlessness. Dr Jalil Parkar, who had been treating the actor, informed that the actor passed away at 7:30 AM.

Dilip was undergoing medical treatment, and his actress wife Saira Banu stood by him like a pillar of strength. Faisal Farooqui shared the news of his death on the actor's official Twitter account. He tweeted, 'With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return. - Faisal Farooqui.'

Talking about Dilip and Shah Rukh's first meeting, Saira Banu shared how she feels both are alike in many ways."Dilip saab gave the ceremonial clap. I have always said that if we had a son, he might have looked like Shah Rukh," she said.

She also added, "Both he and saab are a lot alike and have similar hair, which is why I like to run my fingers through Shah Rukh Khan when we meet. This time he asked me, 'Aaaj aap mere baalon ko haath nahin laga rahi hain?' I was happy to."

Saira Banu had spoken about Dilip's relationship with the other two Khans, Aamir and Salman Khan. She shared while Aamir is just a call away in case of an emergency, Salman and his family were too there for them.

Taking to Twitter, Amitabh Bachchan said that the history of Indian cinema would be written as 'before and after Dilip Kumar' and said that an 'epic era has drawn curtains' with his passing. Amitabh Bachchan added that he was 'deeply saddened' by the death of Dilip Kumar and sent his duas to his family to bear the loss.
