Mumbai police arrested popular TV actor and personality Karan Mehra after his wife and TV actress Nisha Rawal filed a complaint against him in the Goregaon Police Station.

The couple were married for a decade. Reports say that they were facing problems in marital life. In March 2021, the couple decided to end the marriage but could not agree on the divorce terms.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Karan said they were trying to sort out the issues in their marriage life for some time now. The actor revealed that she wanted a significant chunk of his income, which was not financially possible for him.

He further added that Nisha and her brother, Rohit Sethia left the house and returned later. The brother-in-law told him that he did go to court.

Karan Mehra told Hindustan Times,that they cannot hold him for ransom, so he told them to go ahead, "Nisha barged into my bedroom, as we were sleeping in separate bedrooms for a while. She began shouting and abusing my family and told me, "I will ruin your life", spat on me, and I calmly told her not to behave in this manner and go back to her bedroom."

He further said that she banged her head on the bathroom door and told himthat he would face the consequences. Karan also added that Nisha has mood swings where she is violent and diagnosed as bipolar. He says, "People, including our friends and relatives, have seen her behaviour in public, and I cannot take it anymore."

He says that he feels heartbroken that money has lead to this. He told HT, "People have known me in the industry and know what I have put into this marriage. This is what I got? I agreed to a separation, but to take away everything is not done. Karan ko sadak pe lao aur hume saara paisa mil jaye, yeh plan hain."
