Tough Competition Impacts Box Office Performance
Although the film has received encouraging reviews from viewers and critics alike, its box office journey has been affected by strong competition. Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata released alongside several notable titles, including Mahaakashay Chakraborty's horror thriller Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past, Diljit Dosanjh's Main Vaapas Aaunga, and Chinmay Mandlekar's Governor featuring Manoj Bajpayee.
In addition, the Hollywood release Backrooms has also been attracting audiences, leading to a division of screens and footfalls. The crowded release calendar has made it challenging for Kangana Ranaut's film to achieve stronger numbers despite positive word-of-mouth.
Story Inspired by the Courage of Cama Hospital Nurses
Directed by Manoj Tapadia, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata pays tribute to the bravery and dedication shown by the nursing and medical staff of Mumbai's Cama Hospital during the 26/11 terror attacks. The film highlights the risks taken by healthcare workers who helped protect patients and save lives amid the crisis.
Kangana Ranaut plays Geeta Madhav Kamble, a character reportedly inspired by real-life nurse Anjali Kulthe, who played a crucial role during the attacks. The cast also features Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, Prasad Oak, Esha Dey, and several other actors in important roles. The film was released in theatres on June 12, 2026, and continues to draw appreciation for its emotional storytelling and performances.
