Sunil Gavaskar on Virat Kohli: ‘Captain is defined by World Cups that he wins’

Bengaluru: The Virat Kohli-led Indian team exited from the semi-final stage of the ICC World Cup 2019 last year. And, Kohli the captain is yet to win an ICC trophy. This is a big gap in Kohli’s illustrious CV. Now, batting legend Sunil Gavaskar has spoken about the importance of captains winning World Cups.

In order to leave a legacy as a skipper, Kohli needs to win that elusive World Cup, according to Gavaskar.

Kohli is already a World Cup winner, under Dhoni’s leadership, in 2011. Also he was part of the 2013 Champions Trophy team.
