Ravichandran Ashwin is currently having a great stint with his off-spin in the game's longest format, having rattled Australia and England. He has also played 11 One-Day Internationals to date, claiming 150 wickets and helping India win the 2011 ICC World Cup.

Veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has once again become one of the most feared spinners from Team India in the longest format. He is currently giving a tough time to the batsmen on any given track.

Ashwin nailed it in Australia, claiming the second-most wickets and was the most successful Indian spinner during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Currently, he has rattled England in the home series for the Anthony de Mello Trophy, having claimed the most wickets, with a Test more to go.

Presently, Ashwin has claimed 24 wickets in six innings against England at an average of just 15.70, including two five-wicket hauls in an innings. He also claimed his 400th victim in the format during the third day-night Test in Ahmedabad.

Owing to Ashwin's re-birth and rise to prominence once again in the format, the question has popped up if he can make a comeback to the Team India One-Day Internationals squad. While a fan asked the same question on Twitter, former Australian chinaman spinner Brad Hogg agreed."I think it is a great option, gives the batting line up extra depth allowing the top order to be more aggressive at the top. And, he is a wicket-taking option with the ball, as well as economical. Get him back in. #INDvENG #Cricket," he wrote in reply to the tweet.

To date, Ashwin has played 111 ODIs and claimed 150 wickets at an average of 32.9, including a four-wicket haul. He also helped India win the ICC World Cup 2011 while playing his last ODI in 2017.

At present, Ashwin would focus on coming up with another defying performance in the final Test in Ahmedabad and help India win, thus sealing his side's place in the ICC World Test Championship final. India is also scheduled to play England in five Twenty20 Internationals after the Tests, followed by three ODIs, as the Indian squad for the ODIs is yet to be announced.
