This was Sunrisers Hyderabad's sixth win of the season in 13 matches, as they leapt to the fourth spot in the table. As for Royal Challengers Bangalore, this was their sixth loss of the season in the same number of matches as SRH, while they stay in the second spot.

In what turned out to be a one-sided encounter, former champions Ssnrisers Hyderabad (SRH) scripted a comfortable win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), in Match 52 of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL). Being played in Sharjah, SRH rode to an easy five-wicket win.

The win allowed them to leapfrog to the fourth spot, from seventh, owing to a better net run-rate. As they stay in contention for the playoffs, we take a look at the records that were scripted here.
undefined
RCB score an unwanted: The RCB batting saw a collapse in the death overs, as they lost three wickets since the 16th over. As a result, they could only manage to score 27 runs, which was the lowest in the phase by any team this season.

Sandeep Sharma scalps numerous ones: Sandeep came up with a reliable bowling performance, claiming 220, while he also dismissed RCB skipper Virat Kohli, for mere seven. Consequently, he has become the bowler to get rid of Kohli on most occasions in the tournament to date (7), going past Ashish Nehra (6). He has also become the second bowler to claim the most wickets in the powerplay of the competition to date (51). The record for the same is held by Zaheer Khan (52).

Kohli joins a legend among unwanted: Following Kohli's dismissal against Sandeep, he has now become the joint-most batsman to be dismissed by a particular bowler in the IPL. He shares the unwanted feat with MS Dhoni, who too has been dismissed seven times by Zaheer.
undefined
Devdutt Padikkal joins the 1,000-club uniquely: Padikkal could only manage five runs tonight but has been in a glorious form this season. In the process, he has also scored 1,000 runs in T20s so far. However, what's interesting is that he is the only batsman to score 1,000 T20 runs at an average of 40-plus and a strike-rate of 150-plus. Incredible!

Match summary: Winning the toss, SRH skipper David Warner opted to bowl, as RCB were off to a shaky start. Nonetheless, courtesy Josh Philippe's 32, they posted a below-par total of 1207, while Sandeep and Jason Holder claimed a couple each. In reply, the SRH batsmen played comfortably, as Wriddhiman Saha's subtle knock of 39 was enough to see them through, by five wickets.
