Rishabh Pant will rest for a week because of his hamstring injury that occurred in the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR). They will have to deploy Alex Cary, who is the only wicketkeeping substitute for them. Pant had been in a glorious form of late.

A big blow has occurred for Delhi Capitals (DC) at a time when they were at the helm of this IPL season. The young gun, Rishabh Pant, who is the wicketkeeper-batsman for the side, has been ruled out of the tournament following a hamstring injury.

The former picked up the injury against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on October 9. The injury gripped the youngster when he took Varun Aaron's catch, following which he was seen limping towards the end of the RR innings.

"I spoke to the doctor and he said he is going to be resting for a week," DC skipper, Shreyas Iyer, said after they lost the toss against MI. He also hoped that Rishabh Pant comes back strongly after this break.

The problem has actually made a double blow for DC seen from a birds eye view. In the absence of Pant, they only have Alex Cary as the only wicketkeeping option.

With the strict norms to include only four overseas players in the playing XI, they already have Marcus Stoinis, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje as their star bowlers, who are unlikely to be removed. As a result Shimron Hetmyer, too, will have to be removed to strike out this balance, something that was seen in the match against MI.

The Shreyas Iyer-led side will continue to put in arduous efforts to sustain them in the top berth, as they might suffer losing Rishabh Pant, who has been the second-highest run-getter for the Capitals this season, having scored 176 runs in six innings.
