IPL 2020: MS Dhoni smashes plenty of sixes in CSK camp in Chennai

Chennai: ‘Thala’ is back. Vintage MS Dhoni was on view as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) trained in Chennai ahead of the their departure to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020).

Dhoni, who announced his retirement from international cricket, will again lead CSK. He has captained them to three IPL titles.

During a net session, the 39-year-old Dhoni smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground, according to CSK CEO KS Viswanathan.

“Dhoni is striking the ball very well. And there were plenty of sixes in all directions. Dhoni was his usual self, relaxed, confident and happy,” he told Sportstar website.

He also added that the team also got the news of his retirement through his Instagram post. “The team was surprised,” he said.

Dhoni called it quits from international cricket on August 15. Same day, Suresh Raina too joined his captain in international retirement. Both will be seen in action for CSK in IPL 2020.

CSK players are undergoing a five-day preparatory camp in Chennai.

CSK players are set to leave for Dubai on Friday (August 21).

In the inaugural match of IPL 2020 on September 19, CSK are likely to face defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI).
