The Indian cricket fraternity was abuzz after Sunil Gavaskar had made some controversial comments regarding Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli. What was even intriguing that the former Indian skipper had also dragged Kohli's wife, Anushka Sharma, into it. Nonetheless, former Indian seamer Irfan Pathan has something to say to her.

It all happened after Kohli had underperformed during RCB's previous game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Gavaskar had said on air, “Inhone lockdown me to bas Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki hai (He has only practised in Anushka's deliveries during the lockdown)."

Infuriated, fans took to social media to slam Gavaskar, demanding him to be removed from the Star Sports commentary panel. Later, Anushka herself took to Instagram, where she posted a story, demanding an explanation as to why Gavaskar had dragged her into this.

It seemed like Gavaskar was referring to a video that surfaced a few days back, where Kohli was seen playing at home, with Anushka bowling to him. On the same note, Gavaskar's son, Rohan, cleared the air by posting on Twitter, which implied that his father has been misquoted, besides the entire thing being stated out of context.

Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan has given a piece of advice to Anushka, asking her to always respect Gavaskar. "Always respect #SunilGavaskar sir always," Pathan wrote on his Twitter post.

RCB succumbed to one of their heaviest defeats on Thursday, as they were mauled by KXIP, by 97 runs, in Dubai, last night. The match was highlighted by the flawless innings of KXIP skipper KL Rahul, who scored an unbeaten 132 off just 69 deliveries, as the latter's side posted a mammoth 2063. In reply, RCB were bundled out for mere 109.
