India vs England 2020-21: T Natarajan released from Tamil Nadu's Vijay Hazare squad upon BCCI's request

The Board of Control for Cricket in India and the selection committee is yet to announce the limited-overs leg squad. However, it has already indicated a player's availability, as young pacer T Natarajan is all set to be a part of the series.

According to a PTI report, BCCI had informed the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association regarding Natarajan and its plans to have him the limited-overs squad against England. Consequently, TNCA was asked to rest him from the Tamil Nadu squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, to avoid fatigue before the series.

"The BCCI and the Indian team management wanted Natarajan to be fresh for the white-ball leg of the series against England. Keeping the Indian team's interests in mind, we said yes," RS Ramasaamy, secretary of TNCA, was quoted as saying to PTI. Meanwhile, he would be replaced by RS Jaganath Sinivas in the TN squad, as the tournament begins from February 20.

Natarajan made his debut in Australia across formats, thus becoming the first Indian to do so on tour. He came up with a terrific performance to help India win the T20Is and Border-Gavaskar Test Trophy, Down Under.
