India is giving a tough time to England for the Anthony de Mello Trophy, in the ongoing four-Test series. The host lost the opening Test but is one the verge of winning the second. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill has given the side an injury scare after hurting his forearm.

Team India is on the verge of winning the second Test against England on Day 4, for the Anthony de Mello Trophy, at the MA Chidambaram (Chepauk) Stadium in Chennai, on Tuesday. However, the host seems to have an injury scare in the form of young opener, Shubman Gill.

Gill has reportedly hurt his left forearm. On Monday, it happened during the final session when the last ball of England's 18th over saw Daniel Lawrence sweep it vigorously off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Gill, who was stationed at short-leg, tried to evade, but could not help the ball avoid his forearm.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed that Gill has been taken for a 'precautionary scan'. "Shubman Gill sustained a blow on his left forearm while fielding on Day 3 of the 2nd Test. He has been taken for a precautionary scan. The BCCI Medical Team is assessing him. He won't be fielding today," it said in a tweet and on Facebook.

Gill did not take the field on Day 4, on Tuesday. So far, he has scored 93 runs in four innings of the series, at an average of 23.25, including a half-century.

Meanwhile, India is on the verge of winning the ongoing Test, with England six wickets down.Brief scores: India 329 & 286 (Kohli 62, Ashwin 106; Leach 4100, Moeen 498) leads England 134 & 1136 (Root 32*; Axar 341, Ashwin 342) by 369 runs.
