It must be noted that Dhoni holds a number of business positions outside cricket, which ranges from owing sports teams to business across different sectors. He also continues to earn handsome bucks from his endorsement deals.

Although it is not clear as to what would be his next career move, he seems to have given a hint. And, it could be a sector which is one of the highly essential ones in everyday’s life.

As per a report by IANS, Dhoni could be set for a poultry business. And, the reason for that being is he has ordered 2,000 sets of black Kadaknath chickens from the Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh.

Apparently, Dhoni has asked a farmer named Vinod Medha in a Thandla block village of Jhabua district, near Bhopal, to supply him the lot by December 15. No wonder, it is a race against time for the farmer, but he happens to be a proud one.

“Three months ago, Dhoni’s farm managers got in touch with me through the Krishi Vikas Kendra (KVK) and MP Kadaknath mobile phone app. Five days ago, I got the order for 2,000 chicks, which I’ve to deliver in Ranchi by December 15. The advance payment for the 2,000 chicks has already been credited in my account by the team managing Dhoni’s farm. I’m proud to be supplying Kadaknath chicks to the farm of one of the most famous cricketers of the country,” Medha had said, reports The New Indian Express.

Scientist in-charge of the Kadaknath chicken wing, Dr Chandan Kumar, confirmed the development by saying, “Kunal Gaurav, who manages MS Dhoni’s farm in Ranchi, got in touch with experts of Ranchi Veterinary College a few months back for getting Kadaknath chicks. Since I’m an alumnus of the same college, the experts at Ranchi Veterinary College got in touch with me.”

“Then we searched for more Kadakanth farmers and finally, managed to connect a farmer Vinod Medha with MS Dhoni’s team and experts and alumni of Ranchi Veterinary College, associated with the famous cricketer,” added Dr Kumar.

Speaking on the speciality of the chicken, KVK-Jhabua head Dr IS Tomar explained, “This chicken variety is believed to possess inherent medicinal properties with high protein and low cholesterol and fat content when compared to other chicken varieties.”

As per reports, Dhoni is interested in doing organic farming and would do the poultry farming in his Ranchi farmhouse. The farmhouse happens to be a huge one, with ample space of around seven acres, which is worth ₹6 crore.
