Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the best-selling premium hatchback in India today

Sales figures for the premium hatchback in India for November 2020 are out, and by far Maruti Suzuki Baleno is in the driver's seat in the segment  

According to DriveSpark.com, figures show that Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the king of the segment. However, Ford Freestyle made a big comeback as sales in the segment.

Baleno achieved sales of 17,872 units in November. But the model suffered a slight decline in annual comparison. In November 2019, 18,047 units of Baleno were sold. 

In the premium hatchback segment, the company had a total sales of 38,553 units in the year 2020. The segment grew by 15 per cent to 33,481 units in the same month last year.

In second place is the Hyundai i20. The new generation i20 premium hatchback launched in the Indian market last month has received a good response. 

In November 2020, the i20 hatchback registered sales of 9,096 units. 

However, during the same period last year, the model saw a decline of 13 per cent from 10,446 units.

In third place is Tata Altroz. The premium hatchback from Tata Motors sold 6,260 units.

The Toyota version of the Maruti Baleno, the Glanza, sold 2,428 units last month. 

This is still a growth of 5.0 per cent compared to the annual sales of 2,313 units from November 2019.

Sales of the Ford Freestyle jumped to 1,134 units last month from 632 units in November 2019. The assessment is that this growth is an indication of the changing trends in the automotive world.
