Will Priyamani quit acting post marriage? Here's what she said

Actress Priyamani, who is set to enter wedlock with her long-time boyfriend Mustufa Raj on August 23, says she has no plans of taking a break from work and will return to face the arc lights within two days after her marriage.

With just a few days left for her D-day, fans of the National Film Award winner are eager to know if she will quit acting after getting hitched.

According to a news agency, Priyamani and Mustufa will have a registered marriage followed by a reception in Bengaluru. “We opted for registered marriage because we are from different religions. It’s simpler if we register our marriage instead of going the traditional way. It was a decision taken with each other’s consent, and it was the right thing to do.” 

She says she will continue to work after marriage. “In fact, I plan to return to work two days after my marriage. I’m not taking a break because I have two films lined up," she added.

Priyamani met her fiancé during an IPL match and love blossomed between the two. Mustufa runs an event management company and is a Mumbai-based businessman. They have been together for five years. The couple got engaged in May last year. The ceremony was held on May 27 at Priyamani's residence in Banashankari, Bengaluru. 

When asked, why did she chose to go for registered marriage? The actress said, “Me and Mustafa are from different religions so we’ve opted for a registered marriage. It’s simpler if we register our marriage instead of going the traditional way. It was a decision taken with each other’s consent and that’s the right way of getting married, especially in inter-religious marriage."

Priyamani happens to be a Hindu, a Malayali-Tamil girl settled in Bangalore from a time. And Mustafa Raj is a Mumbai based event manager who happens to be a Muslim.

The wedding reception of the couple is expected to be a starry function with many celebs from all the South Indian industries attending. After all, the actress has starred in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi language movies.
