Vishal, who was basking in the success of him latest release Maruthu made a statement that animals should not be hurt in the name of sports. In case you are wondering what was wrong in the statement, on the surface there certainly was nothing wrong with it - as an animal lover and non-Tamilian

 

. But Kollywood fans quickly understood this statement as his way of supporting the ban on Jallikattu (bull fighting).

 

Now, those who consider Jallikattu as their cultural and traditional sport are staging a protest in front of theatres screening Vishal’s movie Maruthu. Actress Varalakshmi was also awarded by PFCI on the occasion.
