Post Pakistan’s attack on Uri, the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil came under question due to protest by right-wing outfits like the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) because of the Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

Later, Karan came out with a video apologising for casting Fawad and also vowed never to take any other Pakistani artist in the future.

And Raj Thackeray of MNS even tried to get Karan Johar to pay a Rs 5 crore (in the Army Welfare Fund as compensation for casting Fawad) ransom to the army as atonement.

After many dramas, hue and cry, the movie managed to see the light of day on its schedule Diwali date without any delay.

However, if social media reviews are to be trusted, the movie is terrible and overhyped.

A few of the people said the movie was a generic tear-jerker that immediately combusts into a forgettable cine experience.

In the end Bollywood is the winner. Both #ADHM and #Shivaay are shitty.

#adhm is so bad that fighting for its release was truly an anti-national act.
