Synopsis

'The Great Father' is set to hit the domestic screens on March 30  Arya will appear as the film's primary antagonist Andrews Eapen

Mammootty's upcoming film 'The Great Father' continues to set new records, ahead of it's much-awaited release this weekend.

It has been confirmed that 'The Great Father', which is set to hit the domestic screens on March 30, will also release in Australia the same weekend and will have a special show for fans in Sydney.

Malayalam films usually see a delayed release on screens abroad but 'The Great Father' has now set a new trend, especially with the overseas fan show.

'The Great Father', which tells a father-daughter story, has created massive hype among Mollywood fans with Mammootty's stylish avatar as protagonist David Ninan.

Earlier, the film had set the record for the most-watched Malayalam teaser, with over 12 lakh views on YouTube. The film's motion poster also received tremendous response, garnering more likes than the 'Baahubali 2' motion poster.

Tamil star Arya will appear as the film's primary antagonist Andrews Eapen, while child actress Anikha will play the role of David's daughter Sara.

'The Great Father', directed by debutant Haneef Adeni, was bankrolled by August Cinema, a venture jointly owned by actors Prithviraj and Arya, cinematographer Santosh Sivan and entrepreneur Shaji Nadesan.
