The income tax department had raided the premises of Taapsee, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and others in connection with an alleged tax evasion probe
Officials claimed to have discrepancies to the tune of over Rs 600 crore after searches conducted at over 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune.
The raids also covered Reliance Entertainment group CEO Shibhasish Sarkar and some executives of celebrity and talent management companies KWAN and Exceed.
The raids had evoked a sharp response from the Opposition. However, the government promptly reminded the opposition that the raids that happened in 2013 on Bollywood celebrities.
