Superstar Rajinikanth has been hospitalised in Hyderabad where he was shooting since the last 10 days for his next movie 'Annaatthe'.

Apollo Hospitals dismissed speculation that the actor had tested positive for coronavirus. To recall, the shooting for the film has been temporarily halted after four of the technical crew tested positive.

In a statement, Apollo Hospitals said that Rajinikanth tested negative on December 22, but had to be hospitalised on Friday after is blood pressure showed sever fluctutations.

The statement said that Rajinikanth's health was being closely monitored, and that he will remain hospitalised till his blood pressure settles down.

Doctors also clarified that the actor is "hemodyamically stable".
