The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Priyanka Singh's request to quash the FIR filed against her by Mumbai Police on actor Rhea Chakraborty's complaint.
"We are not inclined to entertain the petition", a bench headed by CJI Bobde told Senior Advocate Vikas Singh, who was appearing for Priyanka.
According to a report by Bar and Bench, Priyanka Singh had requested to scrap Rhea Chakraborty's FIR against her for allegedly faking a prescription to help Sushant access banned medication. A three-judge Bench of Chief Justice of India SA Bobde and Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian heard the plea.
Priyanka Singh, had filed the petition before the Supreme Court and challenged an FIR registered on the basis of this complaint before the Bombay HC.
She had claimed in her petition, that the FIR was lodged to "concoct a whole new story entirely different from the statements made" by Chakraborty before the SC and media platforms.
However, the Bombay HC had held "There is prima facie case found against Priyanka Singh and there should not be any impediment against investigation against her."
A case was registered in September last year against Rajput's sisters Priyanka and Meetu for allegedly getting Sushant medicine without a physical consultation. A doctor from Delhi, Dr Tarun Kumar was also named in the case.
Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, a popular Bollywood star, was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai on June 14.
