#RioOlympics2016: Salman to be India's Goodwill Ambassador

Synopsis

The Rio Olympics 2016 will kick-start from August 5.

 

The official statement from Salman’s end is yet to be out in public. As per an ANI tweet: “Prominent Bollywood actor Salman Khan to be the Goodwill Ambassador for Indian contingent at #RioOlympics2016”

 

 

At present, the actor himself is working in a sports-oriented film, Sultan. The movie revolved around one of the oldest Indian sports, wrestling. The Olympic contingent will also feature sports personalities like MC Mary Kom, Sardar Singh, Ritu Rani, Apurvi Chandela, Manika Batra and Deepika Kumari.

 

Boxer Mary Kom won the Olympic Bronze medal in London Olympics while the likes of Sardar Singh and Ritu Rani, captains of the Men's and Women's Hockey Team, have qualified for the Rio Olympics
