The shoot of 2.0 is happening at a brisk pace in Saligramam, in the western part of Chennai. According to a report published in a daily, however, local residents are not happy with the film's action team as a heavy car blast sequence, which was recently shot in Saligramam, created an ear-shattering racket.

The report also mentioned that the blast was shot in a very realistic manner, and even the filmmakers couldn't control the noise and air pollution created by it.

A source close to the unit said, "Neither Rajinikanth or Akshay Kumar were present at the shooting spot. Only Director S. Shankar and cinematographer Nirav S hah, along with stuntmen, were in the shoot for almost a week. The scene had actual explosives kept inside a container tank that a luxury car was made to collide with from the top."

The source added, "The blast was real, and the entire place was covered in smoke. Saligramam's residents were very upset with the sound and pollution it created."

However, Shankar and Nirav Shah was happy with the way the scene was shot. Many military tankers and more than a hundred gunmen were used for the scene, which made it look grand.
