People lose their minds over child calling Katrina 'auntie'

People might be perfectly polite in person and overlook many things, but will act as if your social media status is an open invitation to act as horrible as possible.

Harshali Malhotra, the child artist in Bajarangi Bhaijaan, was welcomed on Facebook with the worst level of troll comments after she posted ‘Happy Birthday Katrina auntie’.

The question has to be asked: In India, all kids call every one taller than them 'uncle' and 'auntie'. In fact, it is evident that the people commenting would have indeed either called someone aunty or been called uncle some time in their life. So what is the big deal if Harshali, a child, says it to Katrina?

But apparently, this was the greatest news in some people's day. People spent their day posting the most inanely silly messages, obviously thrilled beyond belief that Katrina was called an aunty.

Honestly, it feels like the time has come for folks to stop commenting on everything they see on Facebook, for the sake of shaming someone.

In the rush to make a 'joke', users barely think and post anything which they feel is hilarious. In the process, mostly what they are being being insensitive, if not downright cruel or sexist.

Incidentally, Katrina herself did not have a problem. She replied a sweet ‘Thank you, my love’.

In a better world, perhaps the troll would realise it would be better to keep their comments to themselves and not target an eight-year-old child.
