Oscars 2021 LIVE updates: Nomadland is Best Picture, Frances McDormand, Anthony Hopkins best actors awards

Joaquin Phoenix ended the night as he announced the Best Actor award.

Anthony Hopkins wins Best Actor for Mank.

Riz Ahmed, Chadwick Boseman, Gary Oldman and Steven Yeun were the other nominees.

Frances McDormand wins Best Actress for her role as Fern in Nomadland.

Vanessa Kirby, Viola Davis, Andra Day, Carey Mulligan were among the nominees.

 Chloe Zhao directed Nomadland wins Best Picture Oscar.

The film starred Frances McDormand in the lead role. Zhao is helming Marvel's The Eternals next.

The Academy paid tribute to Irrfan Khan and Bhanu Athaiya at the In Memoriam segment. 

"Fight for You" from Judas and the Black Messiah wins Best Original Song at the 93rd Academy Awards. 

The award has been given to D'Mile and H.E.R. for music and, H.E.R. and Tiara Thomas for lyric.

Soul wins its second Oscar for Best Original Score.

The other nominees were - Mank, Minari, News of the World and Da 5 Bloods.

James Reed and Pippa Ehrlich's My Octopus Teacher wins Best Documentary Feature.

The other nominees were - Collective, Crip Camp, The Mole Agent, Time.

Colette wins Best Documentary Short Subject.

The other nominees were - A Concerto is a Conversation, Do Not Split, Hunger Ward, A Love Song For Latasha.

Pete Docter and Kemp Powers' Soul wins Best Animated Feature Film.

The other nominees were - Onward, Over the Moon, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, Wolfwalkers. 

Will McCormack and Michael Govier's If Anything Happens I Love You wins Best Animated Short Film. 
 

The other nominees were - Burrow, Opera, Genius Loci and Yes-People. Reese Witherspoon presented this award.

The Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film goes to Two Distant Strangers – Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe.

The other nominees were - Feeling Through – Doug Roland and Susan Ruzenski, The Letter Room – Elvira Lind and Sofia Sondervan, The Present – Ossama Bawardi and Farah Nabulsi, White Eye – Shira Hochman and Tomer Shushan.

Jaime Baksht, Nicolas Becker, Philip Bladh, Carlos Cortés and Michelle Couttolenc win Best Sound award for Sound of Metal.

The film's actor Riz Ahmed presented the award.

Chloe Zhao wins the Best Director award for Nomadland. Chloé Zhao’s Nomadland, based on the lives of the American nomadic community, specifically a book called Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century by Jessica Bruder, is the hot favourite to take the trophy, and for good reason.

Nomadland has taken the Best Picture awards in the big ones like BAFTA, Critics’ Choice Awards, and Golden Globes, and was also the winner of Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival.

Hollywood actress Halle Berry donned a short haircut and a purple strapless gown.

Bryan Cranston declares the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and presents it to the Motion Picture and Television Fund.

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom wins its second Oscar for the night as Ann Roth wins the award for Best Costume Design.

Sergio Lopez-Rivera, Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson win the Best Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

The winner of Best Supporting Actor is Daniel Kaluuya for Judas and the Black Messiah. 

Daniel Kaluuya: "I haven’t talked to my mom yet. I’m gonna avoid my phone for a bit. But she’ll be cool. She has a sense of humor."

The other nominations in the category were - Sacha Baron Cohen for The Trial of the Chicago 7, Leslie Odom Jr. for One Night in Miami, Paul Raci in Sound of Metal and Lakeith Stanfield for Judas and the Black Messiah.

Another Round (Denmark) in Danish, directed by Thomas Vinterberg, wins Best International Feature Film. The film stars Mads Mikkelsen in the lead role.

Carey Mulligan 35, dazzled in a strapless gold Valentino Couture gown.

Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller from The Father wins the Best Adapted Screenplay.

Emerald Fennell wins the Best Original Screenplay for Promising Young Woman at the 93rd Academy Awards. She is also the director of the film.

The 93rd Academy Awards are being held at various locations this year. Although the Oscars 2021 will be an in-person event, it will be live-streamed for audiences to adhere to social distancing norms due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Previously, the ceremony used to be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The Oscars 2021 will air live on Sunday (April 25) starting at 8 pm ET. In India, the ceremony will be aired at 5.30 am on Monday (April 26). 

Oscars 2021 will be broadcast live on Star Movies, Star Movies HD and Star World. The social media pages of The Academy will be doing the live updates too.

Priyanka Chopra produced and starred, The White Tiger, is nominated at the 93rd Academy Awards. Actress took to her Instagram and wished her team good luck to score in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.

The White Tiger in the Best Adapted Screenplay category is up against One Night in Miami, Nomadland, The Father, and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.
