OMG! Uncensored Udta Punjab leaked online

A significant portion of Udta Punjab has been leaked online. What's even more shocking is that the leaked copy displays the ‘For Censor’ stamp, which means that it’s the same copy that’s with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).  

The CBFC is yet to submit a movie certificate to filmmakers Ekta Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap to release Udta Punjab but critical portions of the movie were leaked online; some even found the entire movie uploaded on certain websites.

The crucial question here is who stood to gain most by leaking the film?  How did an uncensored edition of Udta Punjab, which is still to receive censor board's certification, surface online? 

Supporters see this as a direct attack on the filmmakers and all those who were opposing its release seem to be the prime suspect. 

The clash between the filmmakers and CBFC has been raging over the past few days. The Board had ordered as many as 89 cuts in the movie but the Bombay High Court slammed the censor board and directed that the film be cleared with one a single cut; a  scene which shows Shahid Kapoor’s character urinating on an audience.

Sadly, this scene too appears in the leaked copy.

This has come as another major blow to already beaten Udta Punjab team.
