Directed by National Award winner Sidhartha Siva, 'Sakhavu' features Nivin as Comrade Krishanakumar.

 

The 1-minute 40-second long teaser hints that the story covers two periods, and that Nivin will appear in at least three different looks. Also, despite the teaser, which was released last week, suggesting the film will be a comedy, the second portion of the trailer promises parts told in a serious tone.

 

"So here it is...Unveiling the trailer of Sakhavu...This journey will always be a special one to me...I hope it strikes a chord with you all, like how it struck me the first time I heard the word SAKHAVU!! #SAKHAVU # April 15th (sic)," Nivin posted on his official page.

 

The trailer, which was released on Saturday morning, has already garnered over 7 lakh views.

 

'Sakhavu' also features Aishwarya Rajesh, Sreenivasan, Aparna Gopinath, Renji Panicker and Gayathri Suresh in important roles.

 

The film's cinematography was done by George C Williams in what would be his Malayalam debut, while Prashant Pillai has composed the songs. Produced by B Rakesh under the banner of Universal Cinema, 'Sakhavu' is set for an April 15  release.
