Malayalam actress attack: Bollywood stars express concern

A noted Malayalam actress was kidnapped and sexually molested on Friday night.  The film industry has reacted to the assault with shock, outrage.

The actors took to Twitter to vent their ire, while questioning the abysmal status of women safety in the country.

"This is so shameful. I'm honestly disgusted. We as a nation and as a society have to answer back," tweeted Varun.

Whereas, fellow actor, Arjun asked, "How do we make our woman safe??? Does anyone in our government have an answer??? Where does the change lie ?? Through law or through education?"

The actress was harassed for two hours allegedly by a gang of men, who forced their way into her car before fleeing at a busy area in Kochi on February 17 night.

The incident drew widespread condemnation.
