Director Prasanth Varma created a whole cinematic universe with his blockbuster film 'HanuMan'. Now, the first glimpse of his next big project, 'Mahakali', is out. The makers have dropped a powerful video that introduces Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna's character. The film is set for a worldwide release on January 8, 2027. This movie will introduce a female superhero to Indian cinema and is the third film in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). The film is directed by Pooja Aparna Kolluru, produced by Rivas Ramesh Duggal under the RKD Studios banner, and presented by RK Duggal.

Akshaye Khanna is playing the role of Shukracharya. The first glimpse, titled 'Shukracharya's War Cry', shows him in the look of a sage but with a total mass-action vibe. His character stands against the Devas (gods) and takes a vow to destroy all of humanity for the sake of the Asuras (demons). The video is packed with thrilling music, fantastic VFX, and intense dialogues, promising a high-quality production. It clearly sets up a story about the classic battle between dharma (righteousness) and adharma (evil). Sriya Reddy and Samuthirakani also make an appearance in the video. The glimpse ends with the line, 'The End Begins', hinting at the film's epic scale.

Bhoomi Shetty is playing the title role of Mahakali. Reports say the film is now in its final stages of production and is being shot in the IMAX format. Bollywood actor Rohit Saraf is also part of the cast. Both Akshaye Khanna and Rohit Saraf have already completed shooting for their roles. The film has a huge star cast, including Sriya Reddy, Rakesh Bedi, Rajat Kapoor, Murali Sharma, Samuthirakani, Khushbu Sundar, Nassar, Babloo Prithiveeraj, and Jitin Gulati in important roles.

This mythological drama is being made on a massive scale using the latest technology. 'Mahakali' will blend spirituality and mythology with today's issues. The story is set against the backdrop of Bengal, a state that has a deep cultural connection with Goddess Kali. 'Mahakali' is the next chapter in Prasanth Varma's Cinematic Universe, which started with 'HanuMan'. The universe is officially called 'Pranaam Veera Charitha Udayam'. The movie will be released in IMAX 3D in multiple Indian and foreign languages.
