Mollywood superstars Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran have officially announced their upcoming big-budget film 'Lucifer' at a press meet in Kochi on Sunday.
Starring Mohalal in the title role, Lucifer will be Prithviraj's directorial debut. Written by Murali Gopy, the film will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. All four were present at the press meet, where it was revealed that the film will start rolling in May 2018.
Mohanlal said he is excited to work with Prithviraj and Murali Gopy, labelling them as promising stars of the younger generation.
“Prithviraj had told me that he wanted to don the director's hat, years before Lucifer took shape. So I’m glad that he chose me in his directorial debut. There is always an excitement in doing things the first time. So I'm also excited like Prithvi, Murali and Antony. Now, it's their responsibility to come up with a good film,” Mohanlal pointed out.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj said Lucifer's script is a work in progress and that the rest of the cast, including his own participation, is yet to be decided.
"We are yet to complete the script or flesh out the characters. When we do that, if Murali and me feel Prithviraj fits any of the characters, I might join the cast. But at this point, there is nothing concrete," Prithvi said.
