Income Tax officials reach Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay's house in Chennai

Officials from the Income Tax department have approached actor Vijay to conduct an inquiry related to his latest movie Bigil  

Neyveli: The Income Tax officials reached Tamil superstar Vijay's house in Saligramam. The raid is also conducted in over 20 locations related to the AGS Group, which includes AGS Cinemas and AGS Entertainment, which produced Bigil. Reports also suggest that actor Vijay, whose last film Bigil was produced by AGS, is being questioned as well.

This comes after a tweet in which a person related to the movie Bigil tweeted that the film received Rs 300 crore profit. The officials, according to sources, will be relating Vijay's salary to the movie as well as profits earned.

The officials also reached Neyveli, where Vijay is shooting for his upcoming movie Master directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. According to media reports, actor Vijay has been issued summons.

It is also reported that the officials have been involved in searching the properties related to movie financier Anbu Chezhiyan and Kalpathi Agoram.

The officials questioned Vijay over the tax evasion issue that surfaced in 2015.

In a similar incident in 2015, the I-T Department carried out searches at Vijay’s residence ahead of the release of his film Puli. During that time, searches were also carried out in properties belonging to his co-actors Nayanthara and Samantha.
