Madhu Mantena's ambitious project 'Ramayana' is one of the most-awaited and anticipated films. The film is  helmed by director Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar.

The film has created a huge buzz amongst the audience already. It is collectively bankrolled by Madhu Mantena, Allu Aravind and Namit Malhotra.

There were speculations that Mahesh Babu has been roped in for the project; however the cast of the film will be revealed around Diwali.

A source close to the project shares, "The makers of Ramayana are still in process to bring this picture into motion. Therefore, rumours around Mahesh Babu or any other actor even being approached for the project are baseless. The close friendship Madhu Mantena shares with these actors could be leading to all this confusion and media reports. 

Reports say that the makers of the film have big names in mind for this magnup opous. The film will be going on floors in early 2022. Alongside Ramayana, Madhu Mantena is also creating a Mahabharata universe with Deepika Padukone from Draupadi'a Point of view.
