Google goof up: Search engine confuses actress Saritha with solar scam accused

Synopsis

Making a mistake is certainly not a crime but when it is committed by one the biggest search engine, it raises quite a few eyebrows.  Google identifies popular South Indian actress Saritha as Kerala's Solar scam accused Saritha S Nair!

Search for an old Malayalam classic movie 'Kathodu Kathoram' in Google and the movie details appear along with the star cast. But in the place of  heroine Saritha, the gifted actress who once ruled the South Indian screens, appears the image of Saritha S Nair, the main accused in the Solar scam that still rocks Kerala politics.

If you click on the picture, Google gives the biography of the actress, but the picture remains the same.

Now if you typed 'Actress Saritha,' the prominent image to be displayed is of Saritha S Nair. One can not fully blame Google for this, because the scam accused has also a  short film to her credit!

The tech giant had made even bigger mistakes in the past.  Last year, the Google search for India’s first Prime Minister showed Narendra Modi. Prime Minister instead of Jawaharlal Nehru.
