
Game of Thrones will end Season 6 in an epic fashion, with a supersized season finale that will stretch to 69 minutes, making it the longest episode of HBO’s fantasy drama ever. The makers have confirmed the titles and more crucially, the running time for the final two episodes. Previous instalments in season 6 have timed in anywhere between 50 minutes and 59.
One of the titles of the finale is “Battle of the Bastards” – presumably referring Sansa and Jon Snow have been planning to attack Winterfell and Ramsay Bolton. The heroic Jon Snow vs. Ramsay Bolton face-off that’s been teased all season. The makers have previously told us that season 6 includes the biggest battle in the show’s history and it’s fair to assume this is it.
There are also rumours that Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) will come face to face with Lady Stoneheart in the final episode.
In the preview with description claims: "Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) meets a friend turned foe" suggesting Catelyn Stark will return as Lady Stoneheart.
The last episode “The Winds of Winter” is a yes to George R.R. Martin’s anticipated sixth novel in his 'A Song of Ice' and 'Fire Saga' is 69 minutes long – which makes it the longest episode ever and airs on June 26.
