Mumbai: An FIR has been filed by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) against Bollywood actor and TV personality Gauhar Khan at Oshiwara Police Station, Mumbai, for breaking COVID-19 guidelines.
According to the Civic body statement, the actress, despite being infected by the virus, moved out in a public place and took part in shootings.
As per reports, BMC officials had visited her residence but did not find her there.
Talking to Etimes, DCP Chaitanya S said, Gauhar has been booked to violate COVID rules. She had tested positive for the coronavirus and was supposed to stay home and quarantine but instead went for a film shoot.
BMC had also shared the copy of FIR on social media, blurring Gauhar's name.
The police registered a case against the actor under IPC Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and other relevant provisions.
