
In Tollywood, Baahubali, the industry's most successful and talked about movie, has been nominated in ten categories for the 63rd Filmfare awards. Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu has been named in six categories - including best actor and director. The critically-acclaimed Kanche is sharing space with Srimanthudu with six nominations. Allu Arjun’s S/o Satyamurthy has three nominations. Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Gopala Gopala and Kumari F21 bagged two nominations each.
In Kollywood, Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani and the Vikram-starrer I have been selected for seven categories each, including best film and best director. With five nominations each, three movies – Kamal Hassan’s Papanasam, Ajith starrer-Yennai Arindhal, Jayam Ravi’s much acclaimed Thani Oruvan - are competing with each other.
In Kannada, apart from Rana Vikrama, movies made by or with newcomers with an unusual plot have found high places in the categories. The popular Krishna Leela has been named in seven categories, followed by the much talked about RangiTaranga with six nominations. Puneeth Rajkumar-starrer, Pawan Wadeyar’s Rana Vikrama has found its place in four categories.
In Malayalam, the critically acclaimed Ennu Nithe Moideen has figured in all ten award categories. This is followed by father Mammootty’s Pathemari and son Dulquer Salman’s Charlie with seven nominations. The talk of the year – Nivin Pauly-starrer Premam has been named in six categories.
