Deerskin sandals for SRK lands Pak shoemaker in jail

Synopsis

As per a TOI report, a cousin of SRK, who lives in Peshawar, went to a shoemaker and asked him to make two pairs of Peshawari sandals for his star cousin in India.

The shoemaker, Jahangir Khan, turned out to be a huge fan of Shah Rukh. Jahangir boasted in the neighbourhood of crafting special Peshawari sandals, made of deerskin, for King Khan.

As soon as the news spread, wildlife officials lodged a complaint and the shoemaker was put behind bars. Deer is a protected animal in Pakistan and using its skin for any purpose is actually illegal.

Officials are still trying to confirm whether deerskin was actually used in making the sandals.

Shah Rukh Khan has a huge fan following in Pakistan but it looks like this particular fan might have to bear the brunt of taking his fangiri to an unnecessary level.
