Deepika Padukone fails to make the cut

It's not just a bad day for Deepika Padukone but for her fans too, who were rooting for the actress to star opposite Tom Cruise. Deepika Padukone and Huma Qureshi, both had recently auditioned for Tom Cruise starrer - 'The Mummy'. 

The role in question is that of an Asian princess, Tom Cruise thinks about in flashback. While earlier there were reports of Deepika being the frontrunner in the race, the latest we hear is that Dippy is no more a part of the project. 

It wasn't the role but starring opposite Tom Cruise which our actresses were looking forward too. While Deepika is out of the race, Huma Qureshi is still in the running.
