Mahesh is married to actress Namrata Shirodkar. The two fell in love on the sets of Vamsi and tied the knot in 2005. The couple welcomed their first child, a boy, Gautham Krishna on 31 August 2006 and later, on 20 July 2012, Namrata gave birth to a girl whom they named Sitara.
Mahesh and Namrata make it a point to spend a lot of time with their children. Speaking about this to a daily, Namrata had once said that her husband is quite a ‘hands-on’ dad and shares a lovely rapport with the kids. She also said Mahesh makes it a point to plan family vacations now and then.
