Baahubali rules CineMAA Awards 2016, bags 13 awards

The organisers of CineMAA Awards 2016 have organised a grand function to announce the winners of 2016 at HICC, Hyderabad, on Sunday night. 

Surprisingly, there was no significant competition for Baahubali at CineMaa Awards 2016. The Prabhas starred movie bagged as many as 13 awards, including best movie, best director, best cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar and best actor in a negative role Rana Daggubati.

On the other hand, Mahesh Babu's Srimanthudu won awards in 5 categories, but the movie failed to get awards in major categories. 

Telugu film Srimanthudu won only jury awards in best film and best director Koratala Siva categories, best music director (Devi Sri Prasad), best editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao and special appreciation award Rajendra Prasad.

The National Award winner Kanche also has bagged five awards - in the best story (Krish), best BGM (Chirantan Bhatt), special appreciation award Krish, best debut actress (Pragya Jaiswal) and best lyric writer Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. 

Southen actress Anushka Shetty was announced as best actress for her excellent show in Telugu movie Rudhramadevi. The Gunasekhar directorial has won two other awards. Akkineni young hero Akhil won best debut actor for the film Akhil. 

Anil Ravipudi received the best debut director award. Allu Arjun and Charmi got jury awards in the best actor and actress categories.
