Priya, Oru Adaar Love director Omar Lulu and Manikya Malaraya Poovi songwriters had recently approached the Supreme Court, challenging the police complaints filed against them by some fundamentalist groups in Hyderabad and Mumbai.

The groups had filed FIRs against Priya and Oru Adaar Love's makers for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through Manikya Malaraya Poovi's lyrics. The order is seen as a big win for Priya and her team.

After becoming an Internet sensation since the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi came out, Priya's famous wink has earned her nationwide fame and even celebrities shared her video clip. She also gained a huge social media following and came close to beating Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylie Jenner's Instagram record.

Priya has also become the most searched celebrity on Google search engine and brushed aside sexy Sunny Leone. Besides Sunny, Priya has also pipped Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif on Google search.

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan also openly supported Priya and the viral song, saying “intolerance, from any section of the society, is unacceptable”.

“The song and its visualization have led to a big controversy and debate. Some Muslim fundamentalists in Hyderabad have now filed a police complaint saying this Mappila pattu amounts to blasphemy. This is sheer intolerance against free thinking and artistic expressions,” TOI quoted Pinarayi as saying.
