69th National Film Awards 2023: Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Allu Arjun and more win awards

Droupadi Murmu complimented Waheeda Rehman on her success and winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in her concluding address at the 69th National Award ceremony. She also addressed women's achievements in the 69th National Award. President Murmu also noted how the film has evolved into a medium of integrity, transcending its role as a vehicle for storytelling.
 

"I feel very honoured and humbled. I am here because of the industry. I have luckily been supported with top directors, actors, writers, dialogue writers, and musicians. Makeup artists, hair and costume designers have also helped me. I want to share the award with all the departments of the film industry that they have given me respect and love from the very onset of my career. No one person can make a film and everyone is needed for it.," she said. 

Veteran actress Waheeda Rehman was awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award this year. The actress was spotted crying as she received the lifetime achievement award.

Kaala Bhairav won the award in Best Playback Singer Male category for the song 'Naatu Naatu' from RRR.
 

R Madhavan received the National Film Award in the Best Feature Film for his film 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect'. He made his debut as a director with the film.

SS Rajamouli took the stage to accept the trophy for his film 'RRR'. Six honours were bestowed for the film, including Best Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

Alia Bhatt won Best Actress Award for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Pankaj Tripathi received the Best Supporting Actor category award for his performance in 'Mimi'.

Pallavi Joshi receives the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for 'The Kashmir Files.'

Shreya Ghoshal received her 5th National Award this year in the Best Playback Singer female category. She won the award for the song 'Mayava Chayava' from the film 'Iravin Nizhal'.

Karan Johar receives National Film Award for Shershaah. Vishnu Vardhan also received an award for the film.

President Murmu presented the prize to Anjan Bose, Rajdeep Paul, and Sharmistha Maiti for the Bengali film 'Kalkhokkho: House of Time'.

Buchi Babu Sana received the Best Telugu Film national award for the film 'Uppena'. 

King Soloman won the Best Action Direction Award (Stunt Choreography) for his film ‘RRR’.

Prem Rakshith won Best Choreography for the film 'RRR.

Sardar Udham, starring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, won the Best Feature Film.

Thakur says, "If your content is good there nothing regional today. It will go from regional to national to international very soon. There's nothing North, East, or South. This is the Indian Film Industry." 

Malayalam film Home wins multiple awards at the ceremony.

The Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, spoke about the President of India Draupadi Murmu and thanked her for honouring the winners of the 69th National Film Awards. He also expressed gratitude to the Indian film industry for keeping people entertained even amid the coronavirus outbreak. He also asked that the film business not be divided into areas. 
 

Anurag Thakur congratulated Waheeda Rehman on winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, "Waheeda ji, congratulations on behalf of the entire country." He said that the veteran star has inspired actors of many generations with her work.

Hatibondhu bags the award for Best Narration/ Voice Over. Succulent is conferred with the award for Best Music Direction, If My Memory Serves Me Right awarded Best Editing Award at the National Film Awards.

Shreya Ghoshal won the Best Female Playback Singer for the song Mayava Chayava from the film Iravin Nizhal.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, had announced the award In September. He posted, “At a time when the historic Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam has been passed by Parliament, her (Rehman) being awarded with this lifetime achievement award is a fitting tribute to one of the leading ladies of Indian cinema…”
 

Bhavin Rabri, who received the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for Chhello Show, joined director Pan Nalin at the ceremony.

Pallavi Joshi of The Kashmir Files and director Vivek Agnihotri walked the red carpet together at the National Film Awards.

Karan Johar talked about completing 25 years of his directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as he walked the red carpet. The film won the National Award then. “25 years later, I am back here for the National Award. What more can I ask for,” he said.

Pushpa star Allu Arjun walked the red carpet at the event. He said, “I am extremely happy as I am receiving this award. It's a double achievement for me personally.”

Kriti Sanon walked the red carpet in a white saree. She has won the Best Actor award for her film Mimi.

Allu Arjun is spotted and papped by the dedicated team of photogs outside Vidhyan Bhavan in Delhi in an all-white traditional attire he looked suave and dapper with his wife Sneha accompanying him, who looked gorgeous in a golden kurta pyjama white brown dupatta. 

“I am a filmmmaker who makes films for the audience. That's my first aim. Awards are like a bonus for me. But when it comes to awards at the National level, with 6 awards, I obviously feel very happy about it,” said SS Rajamouli on the red carpet.

Talking on the red carpet, Alia Bhatt said about her first National Film Award win, “My eyes are full of stars right now.”
