Kapil Dev discharged from hospital following Angioplasty surgery

Kapil Dev is all hail and hearty now, as he has been discharged from the hospital. Complaining of chest pain, he suffered a heart attack, as he was admitted to Fortis Escorts, Okhla on Thursday. The legendary former Indian skipper won the 1983 World Cup in England.

Kapil Dev, who was admitted to Fortis Escorts, Okhla has been discharged after undergoing Angioplasty surgery. The 61-year-old got a mild heart attack and was rushed to the hospital in an emergency on Thursday, following which stents were put to cure him. Since then, he has been under the constant supervision of Dr Atul Mathur, Director of Cardiology Department. 

As per reports, Kapil Dev is better now. "Mr Kapil Dev got discharged today afternoon. He's doing fine and can resume his regular daily activity soon. He'll be under regular follow-up consultation with Dr Atul Mathur," the hospital said in a statement.

The news came in as a much-awaited respite to the cricket fraternity and the fans. Just when the news of his unstable health surfaced, social media was flooded with players, wishing the legend speedy recovery. Good sense prevailed and Kapil Dev is all hail and hearty to resume his daily routine.

Hailed as one of the finest allrounders, India rose to glory in the 1983 World Cup under his captaincy. The veteran from Haryana played for India from 1978 to 1994, played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs.
