Delhi Capitals (DC) seem like playing a tournament where there is nothing known as ‘loss’. On Saturday night, in Sharjah, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), they won by five wickets, with a ball to spare. They have yet again managed to notch to the top of the table, while CSK sit at the sixth position.
Shreyas Iyer-led side has been in terrific form this season. Despite the fact that they did receive a couple of major blows, pertaining to the injury of key players such as Rishabh Pant and skipper Iyer itself, the replacements have done reasonably well and their hunger to win is still stark.
Rishabh Pant, the young wicketkeeper-batsman of DC, who was inflicted with a grade 1 hamstring injury against their clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on October 9, seems to have almost recovered.
Despite the fact that there has been no official announcement from the franchisee on Pant’s recovery, the hilarious incident at the dugout made him look fine. Just when the head coach of DC, Ricky Ponting, was giving his byte on the overall team performance to the broadcasters, Pant was seen just behind him, giving sizzling expressions in an attempt to imitate the head coach. It was after the commentator told Ponting of Pant being behind, there was a smirk on Ponting’s face.
DC, who have once again notched up to the top spot in the table, will lock horns with Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on October 20.
